Here is for any personal contact you need with Yuuna @luceti. Please leave a date and either [Voice][Action][Video][Written] in the subject line. Thanks!
After the camping trip, which had been a wonderful little break from the village, there was something on Saori's mind. Maybe she was being overly paranoid, or maybe she was right. Yuuna was her partner in more than one sense, and the bond they shared was deeper than simple romance or friendship. She was Saori's kannushi, her apostle and mortal agent, her student and sometimes her teacher, and she was someone the goddess could read easier than any book.
And if the trip was any indication, Yuuna was growing complacent. It'd been great, a romantic time with plenty of affection shared between them, but Saori knew from personal experience that such things were merely the calm between the storms here in Luceti. The invasion had been hard, certainly...but the effects weren't quite so lingering between the two of them. Sure, they'd been injured but pain heals. The most recent incident, with the memory reset, had barely seemed a stutter to either of them and they'd gone on about their life without missing a beat. That was a good thing, certainly, but it was dangerous to think that all shifts could be so benign.
Especially in October. The chilling memories of Moro's demise and of having to strike down a young boy she called friend have begun to drift back to the forefront. And the thought of that happening again, or of anything happening to Yuuna because she wasn't prepared...or didn't understand the dangers presented in Luceti was too much. After a few days preparation, she woke up early and slipped out of bed, returning a few moments later with a pair of packages under her arms. One was a poofy bundle tied with string and the other was a large wooden box.
She approached her sleeping lover and shook her gently, then set the box down with a loud thunk.
"Yuuna, it's time to wake up. Today is important, and there's a lot we have to do."
"Hrrrmmmmmm." Her eyes flutter open, not ready to get up quite yet. She looks over to Saori, blinking a few times. "Five more minutes? The bed is so warm and it's still calling my name." She swears to herself that she'll get up in five minutes, because really there's no rush to her. Yuuna doesn't quite understand why today of all days is so important, but she did just wake up and not much is going to be understood until she's got a minute to herself.
That being said, she digs her face into her pillow again and closes her eyes.
"No, Yuuna. I'm sorry but not today. We've got things to do, and I'm afraid that I'm going to have to insist. Get up or I'll flip the bed over on you."
There's a serious note in her voice that's usually absent, especially when talking to Yuuna. Saori's already crossing the room, ready to do just as she promised. Maybe it's not nice, but sometimes tough love is a thing that needs to happen.
Flip the bed? Is she serious? She couldn't be. Her brain isn't functioning quite yet, so it's not registering that Saori just might flip the bed on her. "Soon..." she mutters, stretching in bed but not making a move to actually sit up yet.
Except for once? She actually is. Saori's arm reaches down and with casual strength begins to lift the entire bed off the floor. Five seconds to liftoff, darling.
[Well, after the awkward mixup on the love boat ride...Saori had been extra attentive to her partner, letting Yuuna lead her around by the nose. In some cases literally, so long as they avoided any place serving funnel cakes.
Which eventually takes them Thrill Land, an amusement part not all that dissimilar from their disastrous attempts to visit theme parks back home. Only this time the Malnosso have done them a favor and suppressed the magical energy inherent in Saori's body...which means that she can actually go on rides!
They're probably stuck in line for a ferris wheel or a roller coaster of some sort, but Saori's lost track...this is Yuuna's show after all.]
So...is this something you enjoy? Or are we just taking the opportunity?
Yes, this is really fun! I know you've never been able to go on a roller coaster before, but I guarantee you'll love it. Though maybe for your first time, you should keep your hands on the safety bar.
[She says that as a group of cars go whizzing by, the occupants having their hands up in the air.]
Sure! It's a lot more fun to actually go on the ride than it is to watch. Watching it can be a little intimidating, but it's really not as scary as you think.
[As he wanders among the crowds Bishamonten, the Storm of Blades, or Kenichi Ogata as Yuuna might know him best, looks for familiar faces. His eyebrows furrow when he spots his niece's young lover sitting by the fountain, pretty clearly people watching. He approaches with an intrigued look.]
I had not thought to find a familiar face here, young lady.
[The old soldier winks and bows jauntily in kind.]
That would be because you're the first person I've met that I recognize. I am well, though a little disoriented. I trust you are well, Yuuna. And I trust you can provide me with some answers.
[Kenichi listens, a frown growing on his face. He doesn't like the idea of family being trapped here, at all. And he's liking even less that they've been here so long, and hurt to boot.]
That...is quite a tale. It sounds as though you've been here for some time, too. How long, and what have you been up to? How've you passed the time without losing your minds?
[Well, since she'd learned Helios and Max had recently split up, Saori could help but try and find a few ways to cheer him up. When the invitation to the lakeside had gone out she'd highly encouraged both Yuuna and Helios to attend, by pulling them both along if they were reticent about it. A party was just the thing that they needed to get rid of the blues.
The crisp, clean, cool air was refreshing and she'd made sure to set a sort of basecamp at one of the picnic tables for them all to meet at as the time came to have a meal before the festival ended. She's brought a selection of food and treats, including some of that delightful smelling hot chocolate. Setting it down on the table, she beams at her friends.]
Alright! See, this was a good idea, wasn't it? All this food seems delightful and I heard there are going to be fireworks!
[Yuuna certainly looks excited. She sits down at the table, helping herself to some of the treats and drinking some of the hot chocolate right away. It all smelled so wonderful.]
There's going to be fireworks? Oh good, I can't wait, maybe they'll have a really great show. I mean, they do have a lot of technology we don't back at home, so it has to be good.
[ Helios looks...uncertain but he's going to manage a smile or two as they check out the sights. Subdued amazement that is his current expression as he walks with both Yunna and Saori. It's been an odd week, no thanks to the effects of the what would appear to be Valentine's Day. Helios will eye the hot coco warily before taking a small sip. It was delicious and unexpected but he had to get out this funk somehow, right? ]
Mm it's always nice when-when they have fireworks here. Technology and magic make a good pair when it comes to this sort of thing, who knew.
[She takes a seat and grabs a dango-stick for herself, taking a bite and nibbling along the side till one ball is finished. It's quite good, but as always it needs to be washed down with a nice drink.]
They really do. They've been good in the past, when they've done them. It's certainly not a bad thing, having a festival like this. They didn't really say much about the reasons, but if it's got fireworks I don't mind.
I think it's great! [You better believe this woman has not stopped eating any of it yet.] And this hot chocolate is good too, I never thought to put anything spicy in it.
[She's sipping it in between bites.] We might run out though, I think I already ate half of it.
[It'd been three days since the incident. Three days since Saori had really been able to sleep, her mind completely distraught by the events of this year's Valentine's experiment. Her mind had been altered, and she'd done things she'd ordinarily be unwilling to do...to say the least. He was a friend, a good one, but giving herself to him so completely? Even with the arrangement they'd had, it still felt wrong. She hadn't wanted to tell Yuuna, but at the same time, her partner had the right to know. That...was part of the agreement too.
Late that night, Saori pads into their little bedroom, thoroughly exhausted and takes a seat at her table, the one piled high with books. Looking over at her love, she speaks up in a croaking voice.]
[Sitting on the bed reading, she looks up as Saori enters, smiling back and then turning back to her book. She doesn't look back up until she's addressed.]
Uh...yeah. [She runs a hand through her hair. Helios...that was fun but awkward.] Helios isn't heartbroken or anything, is he? I haven't talked to him since...
