Yeah, the lines aren't really enjoyable, but the ride is worth it. [And that's when they get led to the edge, to get into the carts...but Yuuna got a glance right before they got there to get an idea of how high up they were.]

A-a-actually....um....

[Saori remains quiet, hands on the safety bar and her knuckles completely white.]

...yes...?

[Now, she wishes they weren't already in the cars.]

You know, maybe...maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all.

B-but you said it'd be fun...?

[There's a hint of confusion in her voice as the ride begins to climb the first hill.]

I did, and now I, well, I think I'm going to be sick.

[Climbing higher and higher. And now they're at the top of the hill...]

Y-you said you wanted to come though!

[And then the car goes down the tracks, and Saori lets out a shriek as she feels herself falling.]

[Oh no, why did they go this high up, what was she thinking, really...what a splendidly awful idea...

She fights to keep her lunch down, screaming as they go down the track, violently curving to the right and left at breakneck speeds.]

I-! Ahhhhhh!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! [Saori's scream is high pitched and long, her hands waving in the air above her. And after a few seconds, when she realizes that she's not falling, or dead? She's got a wide smile on her face!]

[Good thing Saori's having fun because

gurgle blech

there went Yuuna's lunch. Right off the side of the ride. And she's not done yet because this has got to be the most frightening thing she's ever done. Someone get her off now.]

[Saori blinks and immediately goes to pat Yuuna's back as they coast through to the first straightaway. The second hill isn't too bad, but there's no stopping it. Three more hills total.]

Dear? Are you okay?

I'm...gurgle fine... [No, no she's not.] I don't remember this being so scary...

[And then they get to the second hill and she screams bloody murder.]

[Instead of saying anything, Saori slips an arm around Yuuna's waist and just lets her scream as they come down the hill. Blessedly, it's not one of the ones with the loops. That'd be a bit much.]

Are you...afraid of heights?

I am now! [The next hill they come to is no less a scream of a belief that she is surely going to die on this ride. She might as well be dead because she feels like she's dead. She wants to be dead.]

[Saori keeps quiet and continues patting Yuuna until they make it around the ride. Thankfully, it's fairly short, and thankfully it's the first of three. The other two they can now skip.

Climbing off the ride, she offers Yuuna a hand out of the car.]

When did this happen?

I...don't know, just now...we got to the top and I really thought I was done for. [She's calming herself, now that she's on solid ground again.] Let's not go on any more rides like that, if that's okay.

You were the one that wanted to go one it in the first place, so that's fine.

[She frowns and rubs Yuuna's back, reaching into a pocket to offer over a handkerchief.]

This is new. We've never had this problem before.

I've never been afraid of heights before. Never. Earth and Stars, you don't think...? [Did she get shifted too?]

It's...like my shift, then. We've been rock climbing before...so I know it's recent.

[She grumbles. She really likes roller coasters too and this completely ruined it for her.]

That's awful, that ruins half the fun of being here...being afraid of heights, couldn't they of picked something else? [She whines. This isn't fair. She feels fine now that she's on the ground, but now she's pretty much banned from any coasters and half the other rides there.]

Maybe it's because you teased me about my newfound aversion to pastries. But it's just a shift, give it some time and it will pass, dear.

[She leads Yuuna over to a bench and plunks her down there.]

Do you want some water or something? You look like hell, dear.

Water, yeah. I bet my breath smells awful now. [Really, she should head to the bathroom and wash her mouth out.]

[Saori produces a bottle from the folds of her clothes and hands it over.]

It's not the most pleasant, no. Go wash your mouth off. I'll wait here.

[She gladly takes it. And heads off to the nearest bathroom, rinses her mouth, and comes back.]

Thanks. Guess I won't be doing anything here. Maybe we can go somewhere else that doesn't involve five hundred feet of me losing everything I ate. [Just thinking about it is making her stomach turn.]

No, I guess not.

[Saori stands up and jerks her head over towards the exit.]

We could always try Halloween Land?

As long as the shift didn't give us more than one fear, I should be okay for Halloween Land. Let's go, just the sound of the coasters is making me nauseous.

[She gets up, to follow Saori to Halloween Land.]
