Why, hello Luceti! For those of you who don't know me, I'm Yuuna, Yuuna Sugasawa. I'm planning on a little trip with a friend, so I wanted to ask what you guys like to do when you go out camping or hiking? We've got a couple ideas, but I'm looking to see if anyone else had good suggestions. We'll be going out for a few days, and seeing the sights- oh, and if any of you have any advice while we're out, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

[Yuuna's going to be in and out of the clothing shop, getting boots and other hiking things she'll need, the grocery store picking up some food, stopping by the convenience store to get any other miscellaneous items, and finally back to House 44 where she'll be cooking, packing, and playing with Keiko, the shiba inu/pug mix who is as they say, a stately old maid.]

I heard your message over the journals while working on a new composition. I've never been camping before, is it truly an enjoyable experience?

I guess it depends. If you're okay with getting a little sweaty, and really appreciate nature, I think you'd really like it. It's definitely not for everyone, but you never know unless you give it a shot.

I do appreciate nature very much, it's quite beautiful to look at. Perhaps I could join you on your little trip? If you don't mind.

[Her face brightens at the idea.] We'd love to have you along. Do you have boots or any kind of clothing you wouldn't mind getting really dirty?

Well I haven't shopped for myself in a while. So I'm not certain.

It's ok. I'll go with you if you need to pick anything up. Based on what you usually wear...I'd say it might be a good idea to get something for you. When would you like to go?

My schedule is open right now actually, I'm taking a bit of a break from composing. It can get rather rough on my hands after four hours of work.

Well, let's go! Doesn't hurt to take care of things asap, right? Do you need anytime to get ready before we head out?

Oh no, I'm more than ready to go. I usually take my daily walk around this time as well, so that's another reason I'd like to get out of the house.

Sounds good to me. Come on! [She gets up, and starts to head out. Turning, she still can't help but to tease him a little-]

I won't leave you in the dust because you're tired from working all day, will I?

Frederic, how long does it usually take you to compose a piece? [She always thought the masters could whip music out like no one's business.]

That depends really. Some days it takes about six to eight hours, other times it can take up to an entire week. Why do you ask? Are you interested in composing?

I'm not sure if I have what it takes to compose, but you'd mentioned that you had to rest your hands from working on something for four hours. I guess it's safe to assume you're handwriting everything out?

[He's not from a time with computers. His hands must cramp so bad.]

Yes, it can be rather rough on the hands after awhile. I've heard of computers, but I don't know the first thing about them.

[And he doesn't want to learn.]

Well, when there's more black on the page than there is white, I'd be surprised that you wouldn't develop carpal tunnel from one composition alone. [That music is crazy to look at too.] I guess it could be worse, you could be practicing cello for eight hours straight.

I didn't develop carpal tunnel, no. But... Oh never mind.

[He doesn't want to go into detail.]

I've never played a cello, though I have seen others who do.

[ action ]

[She can take a verbal clue. She doesn't press the question of 'what did you develop' because that would probably be rude.]

Yeah. I love the cello, I think it's a nice balance between sounding high and whiny but not so low that it's hard to distinguish the tones. [Come to think of it...]

Have you written for anything other than piano? [Like cello?]

Yes I have. Cello, violin, and flute. I'd be happy to compose a song for you to play on your cello and I could hear how it sounds after.

That's wonderful, I'd love to hear some of those pieces. And... [She laughs.] I actually don't play cello, though I'd like to. I play shamisen. I just love listening to cello, is all.

A shamisen? I've heard of it, but I've never seen one.

When we get back, I'll show it to you. It's sort of like...well, I'm sure you've seen a banjo before, right?

A banjo... Oh yes, I saw one in a textbook at the library I used for the music class.
